We have begun the school year with 31 students in grades 1-4. We began our program on Monday, Oct. 3. The after school program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:00-4:45. Transportation is available for those students who are eligible in our Liberty Center School District. We are also offering a morning program, however transportation is not available. The hours for this are 7:00-7:50.
The Liberty Center Enrichment Program is made available to our students through the 21st Century grant. We provide students with opportunities designed to benefit educational and social needs. Each student group will be walking to our LC Public Library one day each week and assisted in selecting AR books. The library has set up incentives to insure that students are reading and understanding their books. We have added a computer component to our program this year for grades 3 & 4 which focuses on both reading and math skills. We are also adding a science section called STEM, which will allow students to explore and experiment through a variety of "hands-on" activities designed to enhance their own grade level currriculum. This year, we will also join with the Middle School and High School in providing recreational services through BGSU for students in grades 3 & 4. Our first BGSU experience will take place Saturday, Oct. 22, at the University Recreation Center. Transportation and lunch is being provided for our students.
LCEP strives to offer a broad array of services. The program offers a safe, nuturing environment, and is run by our certified teachers.
Currently our program is at capacity, but If you are interested in having your child on the waiting list for the 2011-2012 school year, please contact Karen Grove at 419-533-4498.
