WELCOME TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!
Welcome to another school year here at Libety Center Middle School. We have gotten off to a great start with students moving easily between their classes. It takes a lot to get the year started and numerous people are responsible for the easy first week. Teresa Bostelman, school secretary, manages to make it all look easy for us but she works very hard to ease the transition from summer vacation to a new school year. Stop in and tell her you are grateful for all she does!
I will be updating this page regularly with information about what is happening in the Middle School Guidance Department.

5th Grade:
6th Grade:
The 6th graders took the Cognitive Appitude Test October 31, November 1 and 2. This is one assessment used to help us determine the gifted students in our school. Results were sent home in January.
7th Grade:
7th Grade has moved upstairs and is in the midst of the older students. While they do not change classes at the same time, the may see new behaviors! This is a time to talk about what is and is not appropriate at school!
8th Grade:
There will be a meeting for all 8th graders and their parents on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 7:00 pm in the Little Theater. This very important meeting is to begin discussing high school expectations with the students. Shelley Ahleman, HS Counselor, and Mel Rentschler, HS Principal, will address the students about scheduling classes for 9th grade, Four County Career Center, sports eligibility, standardized testing in the HS, and many other topics. Please plan on attending with your 8th grade student.
The 8th graders took the Explore Test on November 3rd. This test by ACT is a precurser to college entrance tests. The Explore Test is a good predictor of success on the ACT and gives us strenghts and weaknesses before the students begin to select classes for high school. Ask them to share their results with you.
